The people we’re working to help

Our definition of people in housing need is anyone whose housing circumstances put them at an increased risk of harm and disadvantage.

The housing we want to see

As a charity supporting people in need, we are all too familiar with the negative impacts and consequences of inadequate housing. Essentially, we consider people in housing need to be anyone who doesn’t have the opportunity or means to live in a decent or genuinely affordable home.

People in housing need are particularly at risk of:

  • homelessness
  • poverty
  • poor physical health, mental health or wellbeing
  • detrimental impacts on their education and employment prospects
  • physical injury and harm.
