We are governed by a board of trustees which is responsible for the work that we do and how we do it, including setting and overseeing the delivery of our strategy.
Our 10 trustees have a broad mix of skills which draw on their experiences in the voluntary and commercial sectors. Up to three of our trustees are appointed by, and are employees or officers of, the Nationwide Building Society. The other seven are appointed by the board following a recruitment process, conducted by an external recruitment agency, which carefully matches incoming trustees with any skills gaps.
Trustees serve a three-year term with a maximum of three terms.
The board meets four times and has a strategic away day each year. There are two sub-committees (finance and risk, plus nominations and remunerations) which meet throughout the year.
